Pitchfork: Damien Jurado Completes New LP, Tours

Urban folk singer and sad-song balladeer Damien Jurado will be touring the country in the months to come with Richard Buckner and Delorian. In preparation for his fall tour, and in the spirit of all rock and rollers, Jurado told Pitchfork via email that he's spending as much time as possible with his wife and son. "It's the best. Miles is now four. We spend a lot of time going to the park, watching Nick Toons, and playing trains."

Meanwhile, Jurado says he's completed his next album, On My Way to Absence, but that it might be some time before it's actually released. Worry not, though; he'll be lugging 600 limited-edition vinyl LPs featuring early demos, as well as a new five-song EP entitled Just in Time for Something. Jurado is also compiling a tour-only CD entitled Walk Along the Fence, which will consist of previously unreleased material submitted to various soundtracks and singles that were never released.
