Sufjan Stevens Plans North American Fall Tour

If last year's Greetings from Michigan was an evergreen forest in early September, and March's Seven Swans a field of barren trees in the wintertime, then October and November would seem the ideal time for state-crazy singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens to head out on tour and gently strum his banjo-laden folk songs to his throngs of obsessive fans. And this Pitchfork news correspondent is delighted to reveal that he's doing just that. Stevens will play a series of dates traversing a respectable range of territory, including a performance at the Asthmatic Kitty/Fanatic Promotion showcase at this year's CMJ festival, and an appearance at the Modest Mouse-curated All Tomorrow's Parties festival in California. Dates:

10-15 New York, NY - Mercury Lounge (CMJ festival)
10-21 New York, NY - NYU
11-06 Long Beach, CA - All Tomorrow's Parties
11-11 Philadelphia, PA - Philadelphia Ethical Society
