Boom Bip Readies Second Full-Length

After years of providing remixes and production to plenty of familiar names in underground music, hip-hop producer Bryan Hollon is set to release his second full-length under the Boom Bip moniker. Entitled Blue Eyed in the Red Room, the sophomore effort is scheduled for release in late spring/early summer of 2005 via Lex Records. The release follows the collaborative outing Corymb, which was released on Lex back in April, and contained remixes from Boards of Canada, Four Tet, and Mogwai, among others.

Out of the ten songs gracing Blue Eyed in the Red Room, eight are said to be entirely instrumental. The two vocal tracks, however, feature notable contributions: "Do's and Don'ts" is helmed by Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals, and Nina Nastasia's dusky noir-folk croon graces "The Matter (Of Our Discussion)".

Hollon's pipeline also features plenty of what he might be best known for: remixes. As he works on further collaborative efforts with Mogwai, Lex's multi-instrumentalist plans to combine forces with The Free Design, Her Space Holiday, and, as ambiguously reported via Boom Bip's official site, remix production on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. Such big-wigs such as Sonic Youth, Sigur Rós, and the mighty Jim O'Rourke are also in line to work with Hollon during a Harvest Records remix project.
