RTX Hit the Road, Plan Next (Double?) Album

RTX, the latest project from erstwhile Royal Trux rocker Jennifer Herrema, is gearing up for a U.S. tour in support of Transmaniacon, their September 2004 debut on Drag City Records. Herrema formed RTX last year along with guitarist Jaimo Welch and drummer Nadav Eisenman, but in an unprecedented switcharoo (technical term), the band's official website is reporting that Paz Lenchantin of Zwan fame, Brian McKinley, and Dave Brotherton will all join in during RTX's fall tour. Like so:

11-23 Detroit, MI - Magic Stick
11-24 Cleveland, OH - Grog Shop
11-26 Pittsburgh, PA - Rex Theatre
11-27 West Chester, PA - Rex's Tavern
11-28 Philadelphia, PA - Khyber
11-30 Cambridge, MA - TT the Bears
12-01 New York, NY - Mercury Lounge
12-03 Chapel Hill, NC - Local 506
12-04 Athens, GA - Tastyworld
12-07 Denton, TX - Hailey's
12-09 Tucson, AZ - Plush
12-14 Los Angeles, CA - Spaceland

Meanwhile, in an interview with UK magazine Unpeeled, Herrema talks a bit about the new album, the upcoming tour, and plans for, yes, the next record: "All I can say is, that it will most likely be something made of two discs, and it will land sooner than you might think." She also says that RTX should be heading overseas for a UK tour in January.
