Interpol to Release New Single

Clad in hitman uniform and saturated in black-red visual motif, we should have known that Interpol are runnin' with the devil. They may seem like harmless chaps, spouting off sweet collegiate poetry such as "Rosemary, heaven restores you in life," but let us be perfectly clear: The UK release of their next single, "Evil", is quite a sinister enterprise for the penniless Interpol completist. The proof? The track will be released on January 3 in CD-mini, CD-maxi, and 7" formats-- each of which will feature different b-sides, proving that American bands can be every bit as annoying with their single releases as British ones.

The mini will include the rare track "Song 7", previously available on the long out-of-print Precipitate EP, while the 7" will feature a BBC version of "Leif Erikson". The CD-maxi single, meanwhile, will have even more BBC versions, this time of "Narc" and "Evil", plus the music video for "Slow Hands". I think we speak for everyone involved when we say: Collect them all!

Interpol will also be showing up in the UK later this month, wearing their snazzy outfits and playing shows with The Secret Machines, before traveling to Japan in the new year. Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu! Um, dates:
