British Sea Power to Release New LP in March

Rejoice: Those blessed, wacky gentlemen in British Sea Power have seen fit to grace us with a new album, to be titled Open Season and released on March 21. "It is different to the first album," guitarist Noble politely informed NME. "We reckon you could play this album all the way through without falling off your bike." (Or, in the infamous style of bassist Hamilton, sawing off the tree branch you were sitting on and spraining your wrist.)

Open Season, the follow-up to the band's 2003 debut The Decline of British Sea Power, evidently gained its title only after a massive album-naming brawl held on the official BSP message board: Other popular suggestions included Germinal, Warnings of Gales in Viking North, and Bring Me the Head of British Sea Power (our personal favorite). The record's tracklist has also inspired a stunning variety of working titles and arguments, but it's evidently all settled now:
