Michael Mayer to Embark on a 10-Date American Tour

What could be a better consolation prize for buyers of Michael Mayer's less-than-revelatory debut solo LP Touch than a live set where the Kompakt co-founder can throw that recent material into the blender that is his patented mix magic? Our legion of correspondents will be hard at work on that very question in late February and early March, as the microhouse legend sets out on his longest American tour to date. Mayer will stick to the conventional metro cities along the road from the East Coast to the West, by way of the Midwest. We mention this primarily to break the hearts of the West Coast contigent (and Boston), as fellow tech-house star Jake Fairley will accompany Mayer up until the Los Angeles show in early March. In other Kompakt news, though Justus Kohncke's latest album Doppelleben has already seen European daylight on vinyl, the digital version won't be available until March 29th.
