Caribou, Junior Boys to Tour U.S. in Spring

Former Manitoba man Dan Snaith will hit the road this Spring on his first headlining tour under new moniker Caribou. Snaith's extensive jaunt begins in late April in Kingston, Ontario, and runs through early June, winding its way through much of the United States and Canada-- though, perhaps not coincidentally, he's just skipping the entire province of Manitoba altogether.

A good patriot, Snaith has enlisted the help of his fellow Canadian bedroom producers and Pitchfork favorites Junior Boys and the Russian Futurists, creating a pretty dynamite bill of fey, futurist indie pop. If that isn't exciting enough, the visuals on the tour will once again be handled by Delicious 9, although there is no word whether the live presentation will reprise the masks that the boys in then-Manitoba wore the last time they came through your town. Here are the dates, all of which feature the previously mentioned triple bill except the April 28 show, which will feature support from the Singing Saw Shadow Show:

The first hint of what that record will sound like was issued yesterday, when Caribou released a one-sided 12-inch of "Barnowl". The disc is extremely limited-- only 300 copies were pressed-- and is available online from Domino or PostEverything.com. In March, the first proper single, "Yeti", will be released.
