Beck LP to Feature Remixes By BOC, Dizzee, Röyksopp

As you unquestionably know by now, internet music piracy is a very serious issue. If little kids aren't being shot in the schoolyard over mislabeled mp3s, they're selling heroin in the alley just to afford a few more illegal downloads. Oh, what's that you say? The whole appeal of illegal filesharing lies in the fact that it's free of charge? Well, nobody told Interscope, whose reaction to widespread leaking of Beck's long-awaited album Guero has been to announce extra versions of the album... for sale!

However, they didn't bump the date up-- the record will still appear March 29, but according to Beck.com, its mundane 13-track version will now be escorted to the retail prom by a deluxe version boasting seven bonus tracks-- three new songs, currently unidentified, and remixes by Röyksopp, Boards Of Canada, Octet, and Dizzee Rascal-- plus a DVD containing two videos ("E-Pro" and "Black Tambourine") and a DVD-A 5.1 channel audio mix of the album. Outside of America, those three mysterious bonus songs form the core of a Byzantine release scheme, with Japan's Guero containing all three, the UK's version containing two of them, and all other territories receiving a special, personalized shafting in the form of a single bonus track with no deluxe version to splurge for.

Do not confuse the mixes by Dizzee et al., with the Hell Yes EP, currently doing brisk business at Apple's iTunes store as the only legitimate way to preview Guero. All four of Hell Yes's tracks consist of songs from the forthcoming album (not that we would know what those sound like...), radically bleepified by various Nintendo-loving sonic vandals. Hell Yes is also available as a vinyl 12" for those of you that have not yet uploaded your consciousnesses into the global cyber-hivemind. Hell Yes tracklist:
