Pitchfork: Joanna Newsom Will Tour Europe and U.S.

There's really no equivalent to the combined effects of a few music festivals and Dicky Barrett. Or maybe that's just our imagination. In any case, Joanna Newsom will experience both (visiting the late-night show for which the once mighty Bosstone Barrett announces, before stopping at the Noise Pop and Sasquatch music festivals) and then get down to business in Europe. Her blip of a U.S. tour coincides somewhat with Six Organs of Admittance's previously reported short March tour, but once April begins, Newsom and Six Organs will strike out together through Western Europe, exercising her harp skills and supporting their latest release School of the Flower, respectively.

In fact, the whole trip has turned out to be something of a Drag City party, as Newsom's labelmates White Magic and Alasdair Roberts will appear at several of the European shows. But above all, don't miss that Jimmy Kimmel appearance; when the freaks, no matter how tender they might be, are handed the national spotlight, good things happen. The details:
