Wu-Tang Members Record ODB Tribute

A little more than three months after the death of rap's legendary idiot-savant Ol' Dirty Bastard, surviving members of the Wu-Tang Clan are getting set to release their first new material in over three years-- a tribute to their late comrade.

NME.com reports that RZA, GZA, and pals have recorded a new track that will appear on ODB's yet-untitled final solo album, due out on March 22. The track, titled "I Go Through Life" was summed up by RZA to MTV News as "about what happened, what we feel about it, who ODB is, what he meant to us...We all love ODB, we're all going to miss him. ODB lives on, because Wu-Tang is forever. This song is a tribute to his cause, his life. It feels good."

Among those contributing to the project are RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Cappadona, and Masta Killa. The group was planning to record new material following a live show in New Jersey last November 12. The next day, however, brought the sad news that ODB collapsed in a Manhattan recording studio and died of what was later revealed as an accidental drug overdose.

Consequently, RZA revealed, Wu-Tang reunion material is back on the shelf for now, although a new album later in the year is possible. In the meantime, upcoming Wu-Tang solo projects include a new Raekwon album, produced by Busta Rhymes; and Method Man's new LP, under the controls of RZA.
