Menomena Tour U.S. in March

Portland's greatest contribution to experimental music, Menomena, are prepping to set forth on an 18-show tour throughout the U.S. alongside Thrill Jockey's Pit er Pat. Seeing this idiosyncratic band on tour live is somewhat rare, their first national tour occurring last fall after signing to a local indie label, FILMguerrero. Their 2004 debut, I Am the Fun Blame Monster!, was well-received and landed on the 'Fork's top 50 albums for that year. The novelty of the album lies partly in it's unique packaging, containing a flipbook of Menomena's live show, along with its meticulous production. Deeler, a computer program developed by band member Brent Knopf, was a key player in assembling the album's many-layered, complex structure.
