Pitchfork: Raekwon Prepares Cuban Linx Sequel

In the wake of Ol' Dirty Bastard's death, a flurry of acitvity has been seen from members of the Wu-Tang Clan. The group recorded a tribute track to their late comrade, a RZA-produced Method Man album is in the works, and now Raekwon is set to record the sequel to the landmark Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.

MTV reports that the impetus behind the album is the fast-approaching 10th anniversary of Cuban Linx. "A lot of people waited for this album to come out and they wanted sharpness and prestigiousness from me," Raekwon admitted to MTV. "So now I'm gonna turn it up so much that it might be controversial, it might be detrimental to younger viewers so that I wouldn't recommend they go get this album. It's going to be a lot of stories and things that really take place. It's going to be a hard album."

Ghostface, �ber-producer RZA, and other Wu-Tang members have been tapped to act as collaborators for the project.

Released in 1995, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is not only considered one of the best solo offerings from the Wu-Tang, but also one of the best hip-hop recordings of all time. The album is #99 on Pitchfork's Top 100 Albums of the 1990s list.
