Gang Gang Dance's Second LP Out in April

After a productive 2004 that included tours with fellow New Yorkers Animal Collective and Black Dice, Gang Gang Dance apparently feel the need to rebel. Against Black Dice's career arc, that is. Social Registry will release GGD's second full-length, God's Money, on April 5, and according to the label this album "documents the band's slow transgression from a noise-improv outfit to the more structured incarnation that the band has become known for over the last year." If that's not the opposite artistic direction of DFA's resident noise agents, we'd be happy to be corrected. One thing we can all be sure of is that the limited, tour-only, 1,000-copy LP pressing of God's Money will go quickly.

This weekend, Gang Gang Dance are involved with Black Dice, the Residents, the Dead C, and others in the What Is Music? Festival in Australia. In early late April, they will perform at the Vincent Gallo-curated ATP Festival, and then begin a three-week tour of Europe. They'll return to the U.S. in mid-May and continue touring here well into June. Booking agents on both the band and venue sides are rabidly collaborating to cement the details of the that tour.
