Fannypack to Release Sophomore Album

Matt Goias hates you; let's just get that out of the way. Goias, one Fannypack's two producers, recently told Rolling Stone, "I don't understand our fans. If you read their MySpace profiles, it looks like the table of contents from Vice Magazine. It's like, 'I like Modest Mouse and !!!' and every perfectly cool group. I don't even listen to that stuff. I like Cam'ron and Jay-Z and the Beach Boys." But that's not all! He and co-producer Fancy have their own MySpace page, where they debate which of their male fans are "homos" and which of their female fans would be worth making out with. Don't be surprised; Goias also told Rolling Stone that "anything we can do to make people stupider is definitely good."

In this regard, Goias and Fancy can pin their hopes on Fannypack's second album See You Next Tuesday, coming out March 22. In addition to MCs Belinda, Cat, and Jessibel, Tuesday has vocals by singer Brooke Lugo of the terrifyingly sincere 4EverMore on every song, with dancehall deejay Mr. Vegas making a guest appearance on "Fire Fire". We at Pitchfork have listened to enough of Fannypack that we now feel prepared to ask a stupid question: What happens when someone breaks the news to Matt Goias that the Beach Boys are now a hipster icon? It could get ugly.
