Danger Mouse, Cee-Lo Collaborating

Within the past year, Goodie Mob founder Cee-Lo established himself as a top dog throughout the distinct bubbles of hip-hop, deep soul, and R&B; with Cee-Lo Green...Is the Soul Machine; which, if you check the link below, you'll discover we thought was pretty damn good. DJ Danger Mouse, on the other hand, fought his way through 2004 with the law on his tail as a result of throwing together The Grey Album, an inventive mish-mash of a cappela rhymes from Jay-Z's The Black Album cobbled together with music splices from The Beatles White Album.

In what has almost become the stuff of folk legend, the ensuing ruckus had industry types of all shapes and sizes thrown into the ring as the album was a hailed a masterpiece and became a downloading phenomenon. However, Danger Mouse has kept himself busy with other projects, including wrapping up Danger Doom, his soon-to-be-released collaboration with MF Doom, and putting the final production touches on the new Gorillaz album, previously reported by Pitchfork as due on May 24.

The Gnarls Barkley project has been awaiting completion for a little while now, but work had to be put on the shelf last year when both artists found themselves too occupied with their respective albums. Apparently, the collaboration is going swimmingly, as Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse have recently been able to find the time together to complete a batch of songs. And although their PR is dropping hints that the album could be finished in a month, we'll forgive them for taking longer. But not much.
