Pitchfork: Album Leaf Tour, Release EPs

Irony is as prevalent as a modus operandi than ever in music, what with Fischerspooner's cheeky electro-pop and Hella's hilarious song titles (like "Welcome to the Jungle Baby, You're Gonna Live!"), but the Album Leaf are working hard to keep our shit real. With a sound that references the Cocteau Twins, Brian Eno, and Sigur R�s (who appear on several songs from the Leaf's last album), you're guaranteed to remember all of the sad times, and, well, kinda like it. Better yet, they're currently making their way through a two-month tour of North America and Europe, so we can all get together and have a good cry.

In conjunction with the tour, there are a couple of Album Leaf releases on the block. For concertgoers, there's a tour-exclusive CD featuring four new songs, one live track, and a tour video. Better Looking Records has also reissued a slightly altered version of the Seal Beach EP; originally released in 2003, the new edition features its original tracks, remastered and embellished with a violin overdub, plus five bonus live tracks, which were recorded from the Album Leaf's tour with Sigur R�s.
