Can Prepare Next Series of Reissues

Following the success of last year's re-releases of their first four albums, Can will release remastered versions of Future Days, Soon Over Babaluma, Landed, and Unlimited Edition on June 28 on Mute/Spoon. The albums will feature new liner notes, rare photographs from the band's archive, and original artwork from deleted editions. This is round two of the remastered Can albums, which have been overseen by bassist Holger Czukay, keyboardist Irmin Schmidt, and programmer/engineer Jono Podmore, and will be completed sometime next year.

Sparse and intense, Future Days is Damo Suzuki's last effort with the band and is widely considered to be one of their best albums. Soon Over Babaluma sees the band carrying on with vocals from Schmidt and guitarist Michael Karoli and highlighting the latter's frenetic guitar work. Landed picks up where Babaluma left off, and Unlimited Edition is a compilation of sketches and outtakes from 1968-75, featuring contributions from both Suzuki and Can's first vocalist, Malcolm Mooney. Restoring the albums to how they originally sounded on vinyl from Can's master tapes, the reissues have been a long time coming for fans of the renowned Krautrock collective.
