ODB, GZA Releases Coming Soon

Does Ol' Dirty Bastard's death give you a palpable feeling of loss? It does for me. My feminist gland aches every time I think about how no man will ever growl, "God made Dirt, and Dirt bust your ass," quite the same way ODB did. Damon Dash and Wu-Tang Records have planned a June 21 release date for A Son Unique, the album ODB was working on at the time of his death from a drug overdose last year. The album, which is the first proper posthumous record from ODB, is a joint release from Damon Dash's Damon Dash Music Group (DDMG) and the RZA's Wu-Tang Records, through Island Def Jam. It's brimming with guest stars like his Wu-Tang Clan mates Ghostface, Raekwon, and Method Man, as well as N.O.R.E., Clipse, M.O.P.'s Lil' Fame, and Young Gunz' Young Chris.

Producers on the album include RZA, DJ Premier, Rockwilder, and the Neptunes.

Remember when ODB said he was looking for new girls to put babies in? Yeah, me too. The tracklist:

01 Lift Ya Skirt
02 Pop Shots
03 Operator
04 Back in the Air
05 Work for Me
06 ODB Don't Go Breaking My Heart
07 Stomp
08 How Ya Feelin
09 Intoxicated
10 Dirty & Grimey
11 Danger Zone
12 Skrilla
13 Don't Hurt Me Dirty

According to Billboard.com, ODB's widow, Icelene Jones, recently scared the shit out of Damon Dash by showing up to an album listening party for A Son Unique with her lawyer and the three children she had with Dirty in tow. Jones recently announced plans to sue ODB's mother and his former manager for any assets ODB left behind.

In other Wu news, GZA will release a mixtape sometime this year on Babygrande Records. According to the Babygrande site, the record will be called GZA Presents and will be the "official GZA/Genius Mixtape." Babygrande is also in discussion with Wu-Tang Clan's Liquid Swords Entertainment to release future music and film projects.
