Maxïmo Park to Tour Europe

If the current crop of retro-minded post-punk bands isn't enough for you-- and much as we love some of them, this situation is exactly what humankind coined the word "enough" for-- then you, assuming you're American, can get a double nostalgia fix this summer as you kick back and recall the days of not getting to see any of the bands you wanted because they all stayed in England. Organ-wielding northerners Maxïmo Park swung through the U.S. earlier this year, it's true, but if you missed it, the recent extension of their current tour won't do you much good. They're playing the first half of the NME's "New Music 2005" tour alongside the Checks and Nine Black Alps, followed by a week in Germany. Just to show we're good sports, though, we'll report the tour dates anyway. See:

As previously reported in Pitchfork, the band's debut full-length, A Certain Trigger, ends its lengthy sojourn through the wilderness of filesharing with an actual release on May 31, coming out on Warp Records.
