Juana Molina to Tour, Release Singles

The singer has followed a peculiar musical path while trying to perfect her low-pitched mix of evocative, acoustic song-sketches, and electronic ornamentation. Having spent years in Argentina as an immensely popular comedienne and star of the sketch comedy show Juana y sus Hermanas ("Juana and her Sisters"), Molina put aside her thriving television career and has singularly concentrated on music since 1996, thus returning to her true passion of writing and performing songs of gentle pensiveness. Luckily for everyone, the acting gig had always played a secondary role to music in Juana's life rather than the other way around; it was more a necessary means to a definitive end.

The UK shows are under way and the North American tour gets going at the beginning of June. In between these two blocks of shows, Domino Records will release a 12" single of remixes on May 16, which will include an eight-minute reworking by the troubadour herself of the lovely "Salvese Quien Puede", originally found on her third album Tres Cosas. The single will also feature two remixes by ubiquitous labelmate Four Tet.
