Kanye West Previews New LP, Sets Release Date

Critically adored, commercially successful, and completely humble Chicago producer/MC Kanye West will unveil the follow up to his Grammy- and Pazz and Jop-winning debut, The College Dropout, this summer. Late Registration hits stores on July 12, and although no tracklist for the Roc-A-Fella release is available, West-- with Jay-Z in tow-- stopped by New York's Hot 97 on Wednesday to premier the record's first single, "Diamonds".

West told the station that the track-- which samples the Shirley Bassey-sung theme to Diamonds Are Forever-- was inspired by his experiences working on Jay's The Blueprint. The track is currently being streamed on West's official site, as well as being played on numerous radio stations. Kanye also recently directed the video for Common's "The Corner", the lead single from the veteran MC's forthcoming Geffen LP BE, most of which was produced by West.
