Sleater-Kinney Confirm North American Dates

Olympia's favorite rock and roll trio are coming out with their seventh LP on May 24, and to celebrate The Woods' release on Sub Pop, the band will be tearing up highways high and low for the better part of the year. After finishing up some festival shows in Europe, the group will set out on a series of stops covering their native West Coast, followed by dates in the East and Canada. Former Helium frontwoman Mary Timony (whose excellent Ex Hex was just released last week) will open in the West, while stoner-rock auteurs Dead Meadow will accompany Sleater-Kinney in the East.

Sleater-Kinney's newly revamped website also informs the whiners in the rest of the country that the June tour dates do not comprise the complete tour itinerary for The Woods. According to a recent post, "Summer will find us back in Europe for a few festivals. Then in the fall, we will be going out again, covering the South and many other cities/states that we will miss the first time around."
