Pitchfork: Broken Social Scene Announce Tour Dates

Things continue to stir within the Broken Social Scene...um, scene, and right-thinking BSS fans couldn't be happier. Unless they were high. Anyway, following last week's lengthy update, in which Pitchfork set the record straight concerning the band's possible plans to release the vast number of recorded tracks that have been piling up, we now have word from the band's own Arts & Crafts label (or, more specifically, its website) that scattered gigs in Japan and Europe for May and June have been confirmed.

So, it would appear that before popping by to play the Pitchfork-curated Intonation Music Festival in Chicago on July 16-17 (plug plug plug), and getting down to the task of releasing that long-awaited follow-up to You Forgot It in People, the band will continue to do what it has done best since it inception-- create imaginatively layered pop noise and play kick-ass live shows. The dates announced are:
