New Foetus LP to Be Released in May

Few people have a way with four-letter words like Jim (J.G.) Thirlwell of Foetus. We're not talking about the dirty kind-- if we mean "fuck", we'll say "fuck", trust us-- just the slightly icky words Thirlwell has always used for album titles. Hole, Gash, Rife, all masterpieces of compressed seediness. But Mr. Thirlwell, no coward, is about to take on the creepiest tetragrammaton of all: Love.

Love comes out May 10 on Birdman Records; three of its tracks appeared in some form on the (not adam) EP several months ago, but the rest are new, and hot damn, as a bonus it includes a DVD with videos directed by Karen O (with Spike Jonze in tow as cinematographer), Kurt Ralske of Ultra Vivid Scene, and Jeremy Solterbeck. Tracks:

01 (Not Adam)
02 Mon Agonie Douce
03 Aladdin Reverse
04 Miracle
05 Don't Want Me Anymore
06 Blessed Evening
07 Pareidolia
08 Thrush
09 Time Marches On
10 How to Vibrate

To support Love, Foetus will be touring...not really at all. Fuck! He's not slated to hit the stage beyond one show in Austria with an 18-piece orchestra that you've already missed. He plans to keep busy, though, with continuing soundtrack work (including Cartoon Network's The Venture Brothers) and a companion album to Love that, as with 2001's Flow/Blow, will consist of remixes by both Thirlwell himself and outside collaborators, with Fennesz, Jason Forrest, and Tweaker already signed on.
