Beulah to Release DVD Documentary

Lo-fi pop powerhouses Beulah were really on a roll when they released their final album Yoko in late 2003, enough to carry them through a triumphant final tour that ended the next summer. To commemorate that tour, Further Down Films will release the DVD of A Good Band Is Easy to Kill August 2, nearly one year to the day after Beulah's last show. The disc will include the original 89-minute documentary plus two hours worth of various footage left out of the theatrical cut.

The video will be screened shortly before its release at the Lite Brite Indie Pop & Film Test in Newport, Kentucky, July 29-31. Further Down's website is quick to point out that the documentary is a "tour documentary" rather than a concert video, but somewhere in there-- perhaps the bonus footage-- they found room for a full 17 songs, including several from the chronically out-of-print first Beulah album, Handsome Western States. Honestly, the rest of the DVD could be Miles Kurosky doing his taxes and we'd still want to watch it. Tracklist:
