Pitchfork: Comets on Fire to Tour North America

Here's a good way to tell the difference between a writer and a space shuttle engineer: the latter needs redundancies, while the former despises them. So it comes as little surprise that the name "Comets on Fire" has always kinda pissed me off, while all of my engineer friends own like twenty copies of all of their records. Whatever. "Space Shuttles on Fire"-- that's a band name.

But putting aside irksome repetition, they do put out some fine records. Their last record Blue Cathedral earned them a damned respectable 8.5 and a slot in Pitchfork's Top 50 Albums of 2004. But of course, that's never enough. Next month the band will embark on a tour of North America, puncturing eardrums and making engineers giddy. Tour dates:
