Basement Jaxx, Vitalic to Remix Daft Punk on New Single

French robot-house superstars Daft Punk are set to release a second single from their mostly blase 2005 record, Human After All, for the song "Technologic". Here's hoping that the wax (or plastic; however you get down)-- which includes remixes from electroclash's hairiest Peach, football stadium favorites Basement Jaxx, Pitchfork darlin' Vitalic and the rather nominal-in-this-company mixmaster Dominique Torti-- breathes some much needed breath into the Punk's somewhat lackluster tack here. A million copies of their spotty comeback sold worldwide or not, there's no changing the fact that this song is still an electronic Alvin and the Chipmunks number set in a copy room. The video for the single-- replete with some weird-ass puppets and a damn spooky 1984 meets Tool meets Child's Play motif-- was directed by Daft Punk memebers Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.
