Pitchfork: Apes to Release LP, Tour

Hardly damned nor dirty (but actually quite deranged and delicious), District of Columbia-based quartet the Apes are in the midst of an extensive tour for their first LP released on Birdman Records, Baba's Mountain-- put out just last month.

It's the Apes' first release since the magical summer of 2004, when they put out the Tapestry Mastery EP following a switch to Birdman from Frenchkiss Records. Produced by Trans Am producer Jonathan Kreinik, the EP segways nicely into Baba's Mountain, which continues Apes' unique brand of story-telling fantasy psych-rock with a journey theme to, you guessed it, some place called Baba's Mountain.
