Pitchfork: Dälek Extends European Tour

Talk about freestylin'...Currently on the road in support of their second full-length LP, Absence, experimental rap outfit D�lek have recently added a number of new dates to an already expansive summer tour-- which kicked off in Vienna, Austria earlier this month. According to their official website, the New Jersey trio's European-only excursion (now why can't Rob Thomas latch onto that trend?) will play throughout May and June, with a number of festival dates set for July, as well as a September appearance at Austria's Elevate Festival. While earlier dates saw the group playing on the same bill as Mono and the Blues Explosion, remaining shows will see intermittent support from the likes of Isis, jesu, These Arms Are Snakes, and DJ Scratch. And because we understand obsessive record collecting as well as anyone, fans should also note that two exclusive 7" releases will also be available at the shows. According to a post on the D�lek website, the first disc is a "special" re-issue of 2001's D�lek vs. D�lek, and features a remix of "Praise be the Man", as well as "3:46". The second, more interesting, platter (a picture disc, no less) is a 1000-copy tour-only release, and offers separate tracks from both D�lek and fellow hip hop outfit Oddateee-- with "Streets all Amped" and "The Influence". As the post kindly elabrotes, "Some will remember that D�lek performed 'Streets...' on their last European tour, but this is the only recording of the track available." So you can see some live music and get your Father's Day shopping squared away, all in the same night.
