Pitchfork: Jonathan Richman Sets June Tour

Following his spring tour across Europe (which included such indie-lovin' hot spots as Turkey, Serbia, and Croatia) in support of 2004's Not So Much To Be Loved As To Love, former Modern Lovers frontman Jonathan Richman is about to embark on a month-long tour of the U.S. With longtime drummer Tommy Larkins in tow, Richman will play 22 dates, mostly on the East Coast this June, including a three-night stretch at North Six in Brooklyn.

Known to many as the Greek chorus-style guitar minstrel in There's Something About Mary, Richman has a rep for engaging live performances, with off-the-cuff setlists, fan participation, and signature dance breaks. Plus, he wrote "Roadrunner", without which we're pretty sure Western culture would have ended in 1977.
