Dungen to Tour U.S. in July

Fresh off a successful UK tour, reigning Swedish psych-masters Dungen have announced a short set of American tour dates, according to their agent. Probably still a wee shy as their breakout LP Ta Det Lugnt has yet to get a proper U.S. release, the band will confine themselves to the main cultural centers in the Northeast, Midwest, and West coast. The tour will also include two festival stops, one at Pitchfork's own Intonation Festival, and the other at the Village Voice's own Siren Festival.

Hopefully, this reticence in the tour van will be overcome when Ta Det Lugnt gets a North American release on August 2 through Kemado Records. Also, according to the band's website, our friends on the other side of the pond will get a release date sooner, June 6 to be exact, followed by a single release of "Panda", both on Memphis Industries. After that fanfare of domestic album issues, hopefully the following spate of tour dates will become a quaint memory we'll a laugh at. Behemoth tours for behemoth guitars! Dates:

07-08 San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
07-09 Los Angeles, CA - Troubadour
07-13 Cambridge, MA - Middle East (upstairs)
07-14 Hoboken, NJ - Maxwell's
07-15 Philadelphia, PA - First Unitarian Church
07-16 New York, NY - Siren Festival
07-17 Chicago, IL - Intonation Festival
07-19 Chicago, IL - Empty Bottle
