Iron & Wine Begin U.S. Tour

Everyone's favorite bewhiskered brooding crooner and erstwhile cinematography prof, Sam Beam (more widely known by his stage name Iron & Wine) continues his lively and fruitful 2005 with a new U.S. tour beginning...today! This follows the the rather excellent February EP Woman King, built on the addition of more playful arrangements and instrumentation to his trademark character songs; his collaborative project with Calexico, Lays in the Reigns, is due this fall, with the possibility of a tour to go along with it. This latest tour begins in Tallahassee tonight then winds through 12 other cities, including a stop at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee. While Beam will also be playing several municipalities whose names don't end in 'ee', those aren't as much fun to repeat, so you'll have to check for yourself:
