The Caribbean Prep New Album

D.C. pop outfit the Caribbean are putting wraps on a new 18-song LP, Plastic Explosives, due out September 20 via Hometapes. A follow up to their 2004 William of Orange EP, Plastic Explosives will showcase a number of mostly instrumental themes that quote and hint at the actual songs, according to a press release (which, sadly, doesn't match the Caribbean's hilarious corporate-schlocky Website theme).

The band got some producing props from Chad Clark of Beauty Pill at the Inner Ear studio in Arlington, Va., as well as the National Crayon Museum studio in D.C. to an end result that frontman Michael Kentoff, deems "bigger and bolder" than anything in the group's catalog. A Caribbean tour (presumably of North America and not the Caribbean) will support Plastic Explosives with dates forthcoming. Tracklisting:
