Acid Mothers Temple to Tour

Last month saw the Boredoms finally come to the States for just five dates, not nearly enough for pent-up fans who waited several years to see them. Adding insult to injury, Boredoms have no plans to release a new album anytime soon, so no wish fulfillment will be going on in their end. However, their fellow Japanese freakout-ensemble-- Acid Mothers Temple-- aim to please, and they're about to hit a bullseye. On July 19, Important Records will release Just Another Band From the Cosmic Inferno under the band's latest nomenclature, Acid Mothers Temple & the Cosmic Inferno. This collective was formed after a previous incarnation, Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso UFO, exhausted itself through a grueling schedule of constant recording and touring. Led by guitarist and "speed guru" Mokoto Kawabata, the 30-member strong cooperative of musicians, artists, dancers, and farmers create psychedelic psychoses drawing from Stockhausen, Krautrock, and 70s prog.

Explaining the change, Kawabata says, "We [Kawabata and longtime collaborator Higashi Hiroshi] decided to take the members of Mothers of Invasion and shift them to the new group, giving birth to a new Acid Mothers Temple. Just then I received a transmission from my own cosmos - the group should be named Cosmic Inferno...Thus, on this the 10th anniversary of the founding of Acid Mothers Temple, I announce the birth of the hellchild, Acid Mothers Temple & the Cosmic Inferno." We should only be so lucky to have our own cosmos telling us what to do.

The band is currently touring Europe and has a tour cd available entitled "Another Band From the Cosmic Inferno European Tour 2005" Cosmic Funeral Route 666. Recorded from January to April of this year, the disc has two tracks:

01 Cosmic Funeral Route 666
02 Phantom Fire Ball
