The dB's to Tour, Prep New Album

After the avalanche of band reunions recently that have made us yawn (Pixies excepted, of course), here's one we can really get excited about. The dB's, a quartet whose irresistibly catchy jangly-pop developed a legion of fans but no massive popularity, are back together-- for now. According to their official website, "What started as a projected couple of tracks for a Peter [Holsapple] and/or Chris [Stamey] album happily accelerated so much that it has been tentatively decided to turn it into an all-new dB's record." Hooray, we say!

But we told you this already. You know that the album is slated for an early 2006 release. But what you don't know is that the band has put together a smattering-- nay, a sprinkling-- of live shows in the fall. There are so few, alas, that we could count them on one hand, but don't you dare think this is the end:
