Hopewell Announce U.S. Shows

As his old band Mercury Rev whiles their twilight years away in the European festival circuit, Jason Russo and his not-so new band, Hopewell, have announced plans to take their own brand of psyche-influenced rock out on the American road. Having just released their third LP, Hopewell and the Birds of Paradise on June 28, the band will be celebrating their twelfth year of existence with the Tee Pee Records labelmates Brian Jonestown Massacre, and High Dials (who have an LP out on July 26) on a short trip through many of the metropolises between Chicago and New York. What, you don't live in any of those big cities? Blame New York. The good folks in the Big Apple grab two shows and get to choose between a BJM-opener or a High Dials-opener. Not fair, right? Okay, now you can stop whining:

07-24 Chicago, IL - Subterranean *
07-29 Boston, MA - TT the Bear's #
07-30 New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom #
