Deerhoof Have New Album on the Way

With a stylistically deviant EP already on the books this year for Deerhoof, the San Francisco quartet have their eighth studio album (and fourth since 2002's breakthrough Reveille) close enough to completion that they can reveal some pretty substantial details. The album will be called The Runners Four and will be released on October 11. There has yet to be much talk about the actual sound of The Runners Four, but we can all be excited about a 20-song tracklist, no matter if there'll be few disappointingly short ringers in there, can't we? Tracks:

01 Chatterboxes
02 Twin Killers
03 Running Thoughts
04 Vivid Cheek Love Song
05 O'Malley, Former Underdog
06 Odyssey
07 Wrong Time Capsule
08 Spirit Ditties of No Tone
09 Scream Team
10 You Can See
11 Midnight Bicycle Mystery
12 After Me the Deluge
13 Siriustar
14 Lemon & Little Lemon
15 Lightening Rod, Run
16 Bone-Dry
17 News from a Bird
18 Spy on You
19 You're Our Two
20 RRRRRRRight

Plus, don't forget that Deerhoof isn't really Deerhoof unless they're unleashing their uniquely charming blasts of sound 20 feet from your head. They only have two shows scheduled as of now, but we invited them to one, so that's something:

07-15 San Francisco, CA - Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
07-17 Chicago, IL - Intonation Music Festival
