Franz Ferdinand Announce LP Release Date, Fall Tour

For a band named after an assassination victim, Franz Ferdinand sure don't seem too leary of the spotlight. Their method of gradually releasing album information over the last few months has caused them to dominate our news wire for most of the summer.

The follow-up to Franz Ferdinand, the band's debut, will be in stores October 4. Rather than going through the work of choosing a name for the album, they're just reusing the title of the first album, which we suppose was really more of a non-title. And if that's not enough for you already, the second album will bear the same cover art as its predecessor, only with different colors.

To celebrate the new album's release, the Scots are making a trip to North America at the end of September, playing mostly theaters and arenas. Expect plenty of new material and excellent dance moves. Dates are currently scheduled from coast to coast through late October. So if the band isn't stopping in your neighborhood, you've got some travelin' to do:
