Decemberists to Embark on Extensive Tour

Now seemingly unstoppable (not that we'd want to try), the Decemberists are set to ride Picaresque's wave of critical acclaim through three solid months of touring, so if you're close personal friends with Colin Meloy and keep forgetting to invite him over for dinner, you might want to give up and pencil him in for November.

The tour will take them across the country and back, with two-night stands in the lucky cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, New York, and Chicago. Fans who manage to stalk the quintet through the entire journey will also get to catch performances by Death Cab, Beck, Built To Spill, and Violent Femmes; Scottish band Sons And Daughters are opening for most of September, while Cass McCombs (not Scottish, but thank you for asking) will play at October dates.
