Pitchfork: Micah P. Hinson Announces Tour

You can tell when a musician has spent a fair share of time in Texas before: They stay the fuck out of the Lone Star state once late summer rolls around. A case in point is the young but world-weary Micah P. Hinson, whose Overcoat Recordings debut Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress was released in April. After finishing his current spin through New Zealand's winter wonderland, Hinson will join English singer/songwriter David Gray for two weeks of guaranteed double-digit temperatures over here. In addition to skipping over the particularly excruciating climate of America's south, our festivals are conspicuously missing from the itinerary too, as the pair of troubadours opt instead for the air-conditioned theatres and bars of the Northeast, upper Midwest, and West Coast. The furthest south Hinson will get is Los Angeles, and if we were one of those bookie websites we'd have the house money on hospitable weather in Southern California. Just a hunch. Dates:
