Strokes Plan South American Tour

The Strokes are coming! To South America! There, now that's not that exciting, is it? I mean, maybe for our burgeoning Colombian demographic, but they keep hiding their drogos in our HTML anyway. Plus, the Strokes aren't even going there. Instead, the band's first shows since putting the final touches on their still-somehow-untitled new album, will occur in exotic Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Important details such as dates and ticket information have not yet been released, presumably because they've forgotten all the Portuguese they learned in prep school. But as soon as they figure it out, they'll have their record label executives send out press releases, and then we'll know and then you'll know.

Those of you occupying other continents, keep ya head up-- we're sure they'll find their way eventually, even if places like North America and Europe are pretty remote. See, the guys just finished recording their third album, and are now aiming for a January release, with a single slated to hit airwaves in the fall. Oh, and Stroke manager Ryan Gentles also wrote in a fan-directed email a few months back that "there will be a lot more touring on this next album than on Room on Fire, so we'll be seeing you all later this year... and we'll be sure to get to a lot of countries/cities/places that we haven't been to before or that we haven't been to since Is This It touring." Wait, does that include New York?
