Well, we've been hinting at it for about, oh, three news stories or thereabouts, so it's nice to report that concrete details have finally surfaced regarding the forthcoming split seven-inch between Xiu Xiu and Devendra Banhart. Turns out these freax will be covering each other's songs on the record, with Banhart performing "Support Our Troops OH!" from Xiu Xiu's Fabulous Muscles LP, while Xiu Xiu will tackle "The Body Breaks" from Banhart's Rejoicing in the Hands. The 45 RPM vinyl single will hit stores on August 23rd via 5 Rue Christine.

As previously reported, Xiu Xiu is on tour supporting La For\xEAt, while Banhart is gearing up for his own new full-length, Cripple Crow, which is due to see release September 13. Now let's have some release dates to pad this fucker out:
