Get Him Eat Him to Release LP, EP, Tour

It's a cruel world for the Pitchfork critic. Writing. Reading press packet one-sheets. Preparing lunch on the hot plate. Writing. Enduring the wrath of bloggers the world over. Writing. Calling his/her only friend on the telephone. Doubt. Loneliness. Writing.

That's why some Pitchforkers do other things with their lives. Take Matt LeMay, who largely disappeared from the album staff spotlight a little over a year ago. He's been working with a band. Cooperating with others. The group, called Get Him Eat Him, have moved fast, opening shows for the Arcade Fire and Frog Eyes, recording a song for a Magnetic Fields tribute album (see www.itsmeaningless.com), signing to Absolutely Kosher, and recording an LP in five and a half days at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone Studios. Geography Cones, which was produced by Jay Pellicci (who also manned the boards on Deerhoof's Apple O) will be released on July 26. It comes complete with some jittery pop songs:

01 The Celebration
02 One Word
03 Pardon My French
04 Not Not Nervous
05 Mumble Mumble
06 Separate States
07 (Interlude)
08 Shirt Like a Couch
09 Bad Thoughts
10 Posture
