Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire Head U.S. Download Fest

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is a surprise: another music festival! We know, we know, if you hear about another music festival you're going to allow your head to explode. But this one is special. The reason? Video games. Oh yes.

The Download Music Festival, now in its second year in the UK, is hopping the pond for its inaugural American shindig on October 8 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in California. The fest commands our attention because of the nifty extras: Gaming, extreme sports, text messaging, all projected on large screens for the kids to ooh and ahh at.

At the top of the bill are the Killers, fresh off their four VMA nominations and Lollapalooza slot. Slightly below those guys are Modest Mouse, the Arcade Fire, and the lovely Doves, among others. Hooray for technology!
