Pitchfork: Sufjan Stevens Updates Tour Schedule

Through the month of July, we might as well have been Sufjanmedia.com. See, we just love that boy Sufjan, and-- well, not to be simpering about it or anything, but-- we sort of follow him around like little dogs. Which, as it happens, is going to be even more difficult and time-consuming now that he's announced more tour dates in support of his second "50 States" release, Illinois. The tour has now been extended through the end of September, taking our hero through the West, Midwest, Northeast (five nights at New York's Bowery Ballroom?!), Canada, and even the South. So even if he never finishes this ambitious every-album-in-the-union project, he's at least going to make it to each in touring-- you mark our words. Look:

In other Sufjan news, the dispute over the image of Superman on the cover of Illinois has been resolved, according to a post on label Asthmatic Kitty's website. The LP-release ceasing and desisting, for the record, was on the part of Asthmatic Kitty, and not the forcible doing of DC Comics. The first pressing will be allowed to be sold with the image, and subsequent pressings will have the image removed. Shit, we gotta get our hands on that first pressing!
