Team Clermont to Host Three-Day Festival

Most of us have spent years trying to forget our high school proms-- the clumsy, sweaty moves we put on our date; the corny tuxedo; all those slow dances to K-Ci & Jojo. But the folks at Team Clermont, a prominent publicity firm, have set forth to erase all those bad memories with their annual Summer Festival and Blue Ribbon Ball, a three-day jam that's capped off with a hipster Prom theme.

The fest runs from August 4-6 at the 40 Watt Club and the Go Bar, both in Athens, Ga. The last night of the festival (the Blue Ribbon Ball part) is affectionately known as "The Prom", where one of the featured artists covers prom songs from some era of the past. In other words, it could be a Pretty in Pink-sorta thing, or more of a Back to the Future 50s dealie. This year, in any case, Chicago-based Troubled Hubble will be the prom entertainment.

Standout artists on Team Clermont's client roster round out the rest of the weekend, from up-and-comers like the Merediths and Tenement Halls to Pitchfork faves John Vanderslice and the Wrens. In years past, Clermont has hosted the likes of Songs: Ohia, the Mountain Goats, Polyphonic Spree, Trans Am, and Of Montreal. The rest of this year's itinerary is listed below. For now... hey you!
