Pitchfork: The National Announce More Tour Dates

The National have enjoyed near-unanimous hurrahs for their third and most fully-formed album, Alligator. Heck, even we liked it. And while the record's gentle pace and dark melodies have gained the band new fans, another reason there's been a recent boom in Nationalism is the quintet's promotional strategy: Tour a fuck of a lot.

Remaining true to form, the boys are touring again. And again. On the National's North American tour, many dates will feature Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, whose self-titled, self-released album is available again after its initial pressing sold out.

The National's North American dates will be sandwiched between two overseas jaunts-- a few shows to close out the Euro festival season and a block of UK dates in November. They will also be hosting MTV2's Subterranean (aka 120 Minutes for the emo generation) on August 21. The highlight of the tour will be in Seattle where the National can play Alligator at the Crocodile in a bid to score a lucrative contract with Fox's "When Animals Attack". Schedule:
