Across the Narrows Fest Lineup Announced

Finally, an outdoor rock music festival that answers the question, "Do all outdoor festivals have to take place in the middle of the summer, on the hottest days of the year?" The answer: no. This fall will bring the first-ever Across the Narrows (renamed from Across the Pond) Festival in New York City. The extravaganza will take place simultaneously on Coney Island and Staten Island on October 1 and 2. Promoters just released the final lineup, which includes Pixies, the Killers, Beck, and Oasis as the four headliners. Other acts making the bill include Gang of Four, Built to Spill, New York Dolls, Interpol, Belle and Sebastian and-- why not?-- the reunited Lemonheads. Oddly enough, they seem to have booked mostly sucky bands for Staten Island, and mostly cool ones for Brooklyn. Funny how that happened, huh?

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. EST time through Ticketmaster and the Ron Delsener Presents website. There'll be individual tickets for each of the four concerts for $55.00 a night, or you can pick up tickets to two shows for $100.00. Sure, these ain't Intonation prices, but you're still seeing the Pixies for under ten bucks. The concerts will take place at Keyspan Park in Brooklyn and Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Staten Island, home of minor league teams for the Mets and the Yankees, respectively. The full lineups:
