Pitchfork Seeks Interns in Chicago!

Pitchfork is seeking interns of all varieties in Chicago, to assist us with pretty much every kind of day-to-day task imaginable, both in administrative and publishing. Which style of intern are you? Let's see! You could be:

Style: Business Intern
Duties: To assist our business team with administrative work, thorough research, and business development.

Style: Graphics Editor
Duties: To prepare images for use on the Pitchfork website, including pre-existing cover artwork and photos, and to design and create images for major features and news headlines.

Style: Reporter
Duties: To assist our news department by assigning and/or writing breaking stories, researching, and factchecking.

Style: Editorial Intern
Duties: To offer general assistance to the editorial department in a wide variety of tasks, including copyediting content, co-ordinating features, requesting promos, assigning news stories, and transcribing interviews.

Style: Media Assistant
Duties: To oversee and generate content for various new sections of the site, including a media downloads page (MP3s, Audio Streams, Videos, etc.), and the resurrection of the Pitchfork mailbag.

All internships are part-time and require between 12-20 hours per week over a 2-3 day period. Those seeking college credit are particularly encouraged to apply. All potential candidates must be residents of Chicago (because, dude, that's where our office is) or the surrounding suburbs. Pitchfork internships are not paid positions, but there is potential that they may lead to one. If you're down, send your resume and cover letter to internship@pitchforkmedia.com by 6:00pm CST Friday, August 12. The subject header of your email should simply state which internship you'd like to pursue. In addition to a resume and cover letter, applicants seeking work as graphics editors or reporters should include three samples of their work, or a link to a website that indicates you have some experience-- whether personal or professional-- in that particular field.
